This one is written for an Indian D2C team — where COD still drives 50–70% of orders, UPI Intent settles in seconds, RTO eats margin in Tier 2/3 lanes, and Diwali pulls a quarter's revenue into a two-week window. If a step below references a payment gateway choice, the answer isn't universal: we pick by vendor response rate, not affiliation. Razorpay, PhonePe, Easebuzz and Cashfree Payments are listed alphabetically in our docs because the right one depends on your AOV, your COD ratio, and how fast the gateway's support team replies on a Sunday at 11pm.
This section explains how to update your store name, contact details, and business address in Shopify.
Log in to Shopify Admin
On the left sidebar, scroll to the bottom
Click Settings
From the Settings menu, click General
You will now see three main sections:
Store details
Billing address
Store defaults
In the Store details section, click the pencil (✏️) icon
(or click the three dots ⋯ and select Edit profile)
A popup window will open. You can edit:
This is the name shown to customers on your website and emails
Email ID where you receive:
Order notifications
Customer messages
Shopify alerts
Your official store contact number
Displayed on website and order notifications
After making changes, click Save
In the same General page, locate Billing address
Click the pencil (✏️) icon to edit
A popup will appear. Fill in the following details carefully:
Your official registered business name
Select your country (example: India)
Your business address
Fill only if applicable
Your city name
Your state
(example: Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, etc.)
Your area PIN code
Click Save after entering all details
Ensure you clicked Save on all popups
Close any open popups
Recheck the updated details on the General page
✅ Your store name, email, phone number, and business address are now successfully updated.
Use your registered business name for billing
Keep email and phone number active for customer communication
Ensure address matches GST and courier records
Update details immediately if business info changes
