Republic Day Sale — Start 2 Months Early (Timeline)

Why Republic Day Sales Matter
I tell my clients Republic Day sales (running from Jan 20-28 on most platforms) are the first major purchase event of the year. After a quiet December, I see customers ready to spend:
- I know Amazon Great Republic Day Sale and Flipkart Republic Day Sale drive massive traffic
- I run a parallel sale to capture customers who’ve been primed by marketplace advertising
- I see New Year resolutions spike fitness, health and personal care purchases
- Budget announcements (Feb 1) create a ‘buy before potential price changes’ urgency I use for electronics
The 2-Month Timeline I Run
November 20 – December 5: Planning
- I review last year’s Republic Day performance (or last Diwali, if it’s their first sale)
- I select products for the sale — hero products plus slow movers for bundling
- I calculate discount levels that maintain profitability
- I brief my creative team: 10 ad creatives, email templates, website banners by Dec 20
December 5 – December 20: Preparation
- I order inventory for sale products (allow 15-20 day lead time)
- My team creates all ad creatives (video and static)
- I set up email and WhatsApp flows — announcement, teaser, launch, daily highlights, last chance
- I build the landing page /republic-day-sale with curated products
- I configure the discount codes in Shopify
December 20 – January 10: Warm-Up
- I launch the ‘New Year, New Deals Coming Soon’ teaser campaign
- I run engagement ads to build remarketing audiences at low CPMs (holiday period means cheaper ads)
- I send an email: ‘Save the date — Republic Day Sale starts Jan 20’
- I run Instagram stories: daily countdown to build anticipation
January 10 – January 19: Pre-Launch
- I open ‘Early Access for VIP Customers’ 48 hours before the public launch
- I run the final inventory check and warehouse prep
- I test all discount codes and the checkout flow
- I send a WhatsApp broadcast to subscribers: ‘Get early access to our Republic Day Sale’
January 20 – January 28: Sale Live
- I deploy maximum ad spend
- I send daily WhatsApp/email updates with featured products and deals
- I post ‘Deal of the Day’ content on Instagram stories
- My support team stays on high alert — we respond within 15 minutes
- I run a daily performance review: which products are moving? I adjust promotions accordingly.
January 29 – February 5: Post-Sale
- I run an extended sale/clearance on remaining inventory
- I send a thank-you campaign to all sale buyers + next purchase incentive
- I document performance for next year
Republic Day Offer Ideas I Recommend
- ‘26% off for the 26th’ — a patriotic-themed flat discount I use
- Freedom deals — I pick select products for steep discounts (40-50%)
- Republic Day combos — tricolor-themed bundles I use
- Free shipping sitewide — simple, effective, no complex math for me
- ₹1 deals — Add-on products at ₹1 with any purchase over ₹999
