My Criteria
Every tool here is one my team actually ran on client projects in 2026 — nothing else made the list. No affiliate links, no sponsored placements. I rated each one on three things: value for Indian D2C, ease of use, and the ROI it actually returned.
Website & Store
| Tool | What We Used It For | Rating | Notes |
| Shopify | Primary ecommerce platform | 9/10 | Still the best for Indian D2C. Shopify Payments India improved significantly in 2026. |
| Shopify Plus | Enterprise D2C brands | 8/10 | Worth it above ₹50L/month revenue. Checkout customization and automation are game-changers. |
| WooCommerce | Budget brands, content-heavy sites | 7/10 | Good if you have a developer. Not recommended for non-technical founders. |
Marketing
| Tool | What We Used It For | Rating | Notes |
| Meta Ads Manager | Facebook + Instagram advertising | 8/10 | Still the #1 paid channel for D2C. Advantage+ campaigns improved significantly. |
| Google Ads | Search + Shopping + YouTube | 8/10 | Essential for high-intent buyers. Performance Max campaigns work well for D2C. |
| Klaviyo | Email marketing | 9/10 | Best email tool for D2C. Shopify integration is seamless. Revenue attribution is excellent. |
| Interakt | WhatsApp Business API | 8/10 | Our go-to for WhatsApp commerce and automation. Indian company, good support. |
Analytics & Data
| Tool | What We Used It For | Rating | Notes |
| Google Analytics 4 | Website analytics | 7/10 | Powerful but complex. Setup right and it’s invaluable. Most brands only use 20% of its features. |
| Hotjar | Heatmaps and session recordings | 8/10 | Revealed checkout drop-off points that GA4 couldn’t. Worth the investment for CRO. |
| Triple Whale | Ad attribution | 7/10 | Better attribution than Meta’s own reporting. Expensive but valuable above ₹2L/month ad spend. |
Operations & Logistics
| Tool | What We Used It For | Rating | Notes |
| Shiprocket | Shipping aggregation | 7/10 | Most used shipping fix for Indian D2C. Good courier options, API needs work. |
| Unicommerce | Order management / OMS | 8/10 | Best OMS for Indian multi-channel sellers. Worth it at 200+ orders/day. |
| Razorpay | Payment gateway | 8/10 | Market leader for a reason. Magic Checkout is a real conversion booster. |
Creative & Content
| Tool | What We Used It For | Rating | Notes |
| Canva | Quick design, social media graphics | 9/10 | Indispensable. Even brands with designers use Canva for quick social content. |
| CapCut | Video editing for Reels/ads | 8/10 | Free and powerful. Most UGC-style ad creatives were edited in CapCut. |
| ChatGPT/Claude | Product descriptions, ad copy, content | 8/10 | Saved hours of writing. Needs human editing but excellent first drafts. |
Customer Support
| Tool | What We Used It For | Rating | Notes |
| Freshdesk | Ticket management | 7/10 | Solid help desk. Freddy AI integration handles routine queries well. |
| Tidio | Website chat + chatbot | 7/10 | Good for small brands. Easy setup, affordable. Outgrown at 500+ queries/day. |
Tools I Stopped Using in 2026
- Mailchimp — I moved every brand to Klaviyo. Mailchimp’s ecommerce features are too thin for D2C.
- Buffer/Hootsuite — Most of my brands post natively now. A scheduling tool earns its keep at scale, not when you’re posting 1-2 times/day.
- Zapier (for most use cases) — Shopify Flow replaced most of our Zapier workflows for free. I only kept Zapier for the non-Shopify integrations.
Setting Up Your Tech Stack
